Vortex Ram is an alternative stoner rock band built around contrast, emotion, and lived experience. The project was founded by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Vortex, who imagined, composed, and arranged the band's music over many years, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, everyday situations, and fictional narratives shaped by imagination. Themes such as love, friendship, war, betrayal, and inner conflict run throughout the songs, creating immersive atmospheres and emotionally driven stories.
The band's sound moves between sonic weight and melodic openness. Heavy riffs, hypnotic grooves, and impactful breakdowns create a strong physical intensity, while melody, texture, and dynamics leave room for emotion and reflection. Each track inhabits its own world, yet all remain connected by a shared identity-music designed to resonate with listeners through deeply human experiences and emotions.
At the core of the project stands Vortex, whose songs reflect emotions gathered, transformed, and refined over many years-almost a lifetime-evolving alongside the person behind them. Releasing them now feels like the right moment to finally give these stories a voice.
The lineup brings together musicians from different artistic backgrounds, each contributing a unique identity to the band's sound.
Tanguy, the drummer, brings a highly technical and expressive approach to rhythm, combining precision, intensity, and musical sensitivity to reinforce both the power and complexity of the compositions.
Eric, the bassist, immediately stood out through his heavy tone, commanding stage presence, and experience gained from previous bands, adding both weight and depth to the music.
The lineup is completed by Aubin, guitarist, professional ballet dancer, and accomplished musician, whose artistic sensitivity is deeply influenced by a lifetime immersed in performance, movement, and live artistic expression.
Vortex Ram will soon release its debut single, "Wolves," a song that captures the band's sonic intensity while exploring themes of war, occupation, and resistance, reflecting conflicts that continue to shape the contemporary world. "Wolves" opens the first chapter of a broader narrative that unfolds throughout the upcoming debut album, *Betrayal*.
